JETER BODEGA

In commemoration of Derek Jeter's jersey number retirement, Nike's Jordan Brand opened a pop-up store in New York City. Fusing elements of baseball culture with bodega-inspired aesthetics, we created a lively pop-up shop brimming with visual puns centered around Jeter's iconic number "2", capturing the vibrant spirit of NYC while paying tribute to the Captain.

On May 14, 2017, Derek Jeter's #2 jersey was retired, marking the conclusion of his remarkable tenure with the Yankees. This honor solidifies Jeter's legacy as one of the greatest players in the history of both the team and the sport. In celebration of his extraordinary career, Jordan Brand took over a bodega located directly across from Yankee Stadium, offering limited-edition sneakers featuring laser-etched typography, along with an assortment of fan-centric giveaways designed to commemorate the occasion. It was essential for us to build, source and style an authentic NYC Bodega experience to honor the fans in a manner befitting this significant and emotional event.
